Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the DietPal app and website, operated by Aura Apps (“DietPal”, “we”, “us”). By downloading or using DietPal you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. The service

DietPal lets you log meals by voice or text and estimates their calories and macronutrients using USDA FoodData Central and our own dish reference. Nutrition values are estimates for general awareness and are not a substitute for professional medical, dietary, or health advice. Always consult a qualified professional for decisions about your health.

2. Your account

You sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to use the app under the laws of your country.

3. Subscriptions & billing

• DietPal is free to start, including a limited number of AI logs per month and unlimited manual logs. Premium unlocks unlimited AI logging.
• Premium is offered as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription. Prices are shown in the app and may vary by region.
• Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
• Any free trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
• reverse engineer, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app or its systems;
• upload content you do not have the right to submit, or that is harmful or abusive.

5. Accuracy & AI

Food identification uses automated AI and may occasionally be wrong or incomplete. Calorie and macro figures are estimates and can differ from the food you actually ate. You are responsible for reviewing your logs. DietPal is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition.

6. Intellectual property

The app, its design, and content (excluding your own data and public data such as USDA FoodData Central) are owned by Aura Apps and protected by law. You keep ownership of the data you enter; you grant us the limited rights needed to operate the service for you as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Termination

You may stop using DietPal and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service and its users.

8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aura Apps will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on estimates provided by the app.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Aura Apps operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
